I want to study but I can’t focus

One question that always pings in student’s minds is that I want to study but I can’t focus. This is not a problem for single students but I think most of the students are entangled with the same thought.

Not even students but also their parents always have complained that their children are not able to study with concentration.

This is another factor that affects your studies and you feel “I want to study but I can’t focus”. Due to the COVID-19 education system shifted to the online platform.

This is a splendid method to provide education support but on the other side of the coin, it created some negative impact on students.

Due to online exposure students are spending 70% time on gadgets like smartphones, laptops, PCs. They don’t know how much time they should spend on gadgets.

This is scientifically proven that spending too much time on electronic gadgets creates saturation in mind that will distract you from the study.


3. Lack of Enthusiasm :

To do anything you must be exhilarating by that work. Nowadays one problem that prevailing among students is the lack of Enthusiasm. Because of their mundane lifestyle, they get bored from daily routine work and feel lethargic.

Whenever they try to study due to a lack of enthusiasm they get distracted. They aren’t able to focus on their studies. Enthusiasm is a characteristic that comes from the inner willingness to study.


4.Stress Mechanism

Stress work as a driving factor in distraction in concentration and focus. This is the prime source of distraction because when you are stressing the Harmon emanated that time makes you feel desolate and focus lost during study.

1.Develop a Concept of Pleasure:

Our mind always engages in pleasure activities and avert painful activities. Your mind considers study as a painful activity that’s why you can’t focus on studies.

If you want to focus on your studies then you have to give a signal to the mind that study is a pleasurable activity.

I know this is not a clinch but also it is not a rigorous task. First of all, you have to imagine that study will give you pleasure.

Repeat this several times in a day. After practicing for 1 week you will start feeling pleasurable while study.


2. Don’t Study for Long Hours:

From research, it is found that our mind has the capability to focus only for 50 min after that it gets distracted. You should study for only 50 min then take a 5 min break. Taking a break to retain your concentration while studying.

Divide your study plans into parts so that you can’t feel burdensome. Students can make plans according to their retention capability.


3. Spend Spare Time with Yourself

This is one of the crucial points students should understand. I am wondering why I’m saying that the reason is that spending time with yourself is most important for doing anything in life.

Students should spend at least 15 minutes with themselves and write down the goals of their life. You think about what is related to the study.

It indeed a relation with your studies as the motivation of the study is comes from the inner soul, not from external factors.

Students have to ask themselves what they actually want in life. Once you got an answer to this question, they will able to find the answer to this question” I am not able to study? I want to study but I can’t focus”.


4. Maintain a Journal:

Maintain a journal of your daily routine is one of the trusted methods. This method is followed by most successful people. Just like a time -table, you can maintain your diary of daily work.

Students should write the task which they had done in a whole day. This will help you to track your performance. Sometimes what happened we don’t know how much time we are wasting the whole day.

After trying for several days, you will certainly see drastic changes in your habits. This is one of the tested methods to improve your concentration power.


5. Invest Time in Meditation:

Who doesn’t know the power of meditation? Most of the students neglect the importance of meditation in their life. Yes at this time, meditation work as a miracle to achieve anything in life.

Meditation helps students to improve concentration power and retention capability. You do not need to spend hours on meditation, you have to give only 15 minutes in the morning.

Trust me, after practicing for several weeks your concentration strength will increase.
