ISRO launched the IIRS Outreach Program that is the joint collaboration of  Amrita e-learning lab and the MHRD Department.  IIRS offering 22 distinct courses in which any students from different government, private, state universities can participate.

Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) under Indian Space Research Organisation, Department of Space, Govt. of India is a premier Training and Educational Institute set up for developing skilled professionals in the field of Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics and GPS Technology for Natural Resources, Environmental and Disaster Management. IIRS using EDUSAT/INSAT 4CR satellite facility for distant learning.
